Op 21 januari 2024 wachtte ons een mooie zonnige en milde dag ter gelegenheid van ons traditionele begroetingsdiner.
Dit jaar organiseerde het team een uitgebreide maaltijd voor ons op een uitzonderlijke locatie. Het is inderdaad in het hart van Rivesaltes dat het landgoed Rombeau, bestaande uit zijn herberg en zijn wijngaard, ons dit jaar verwelkomde om het nieuwe jaar te vieren. Aanvankelijk was het een eenvoudige herberg, grenzend aan de wijngaarden van het landgoed Rombeau, maar de eigenaarsfamilie heeft in de loop der jaren een uitzonderlijke locatie kunnen ontwikkelen voor maximaal duizend gasten in een traditionele Catalaanse omgeving.
Onze amicale werd verwelkomd in een van de priv\u00e9kamers van het landgoed. Na een aperitief aangeboden als welkom (Muscat de Rivesaltes, Muscat Sec, hapjes), liet een kleine openingsceremonie president Brigitte Ghilain en vice-president L\u00e9on Goblet toe om (elk in hun eigen taal) een status van het afgelopen jaar en vooral om hun beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar 2024 over te brengen. Ook onze erevoorzitter Louis Jaspers nam kort het woord om de organisatie te bedanken en nieuws te vertellen over zijn vrouw Kanyange die momenteel onwel is.<\/p>\n\n\n

Na deze toespraken is het tijd voor de maaltijd bestaande uit een voorgerecht van een zalmsalade (Gravlax, gepelde garnalen, citrusvruchten en klontviskuiten) en een hoofdgerecht bestaande uit een kalfsrack met bosroomsaus (of zalm in saus) en om deze voortreffelijke maaltijd af te ronden, een farandole aan desserts bestaande uit gebak en ijs.
Zoals gewoonlijk was iedereen blij om het nieuwe jaar te vieren en vooral om samen te komen voor lange vriendschappelijke gesprekken of om de nieuwe leden te leren kennen.
